Enlighten Enviro welcomes new recruit
Commercial EPC specialist Enlighten Enviro is delighted to announce the appointment of Daryl Hosker, who has joined the company as a sales and marketing trainee.
In June, our sister company Miller Metcalfe - a patron and long time supporter of the Bolton Lads and Girls Club (BLGC) - approached the organisation with a view to finding a new member of staff for their sales and marketing team. This was the first time in its long history that a corporate supporter had approached the club in this way.
The approach came in conjunction with a new project started by the BLGC called Pathways 2 Success, which aims to put young people into further education, training or employment, so the timing could not have been better.
Miller Metcalfe was looking for a young person with good IT skills and an enthusiastic, outgoing personality to help promote their brand throughout the town.
The Pathways team went about promoting the role in evening youth club sessions. Young people were asked to fill in application forms, and then take part in mock interviews at the club to select candidates who would be sent to Miller Metcalfe for an official interview.
The company was extremely pleased with the quality of the interviewees but especially impressed with Daryl Hosker.
Daryl, 18, has been a member of BLGC for over 7 years; he also volunteers his time as a BLGC Ambassador and has a part-time job working as a youth worker with some of the club’s younger members during the holiday project.
After two interviews, Miller Metcalfe offered Daryl his first full-time job and he was delighted to accept. He is due to take up his new position in late August.
