Commercial EPC ratings still important to buyers
Concerns that the Conservatives would look to review the system by which residential and commercial
EPC ratings are awarded were calmed this week as a leading property website announced it would begin offering its users the ability to order search results by energy efficiency, further underlining the importance of certification to both buyers and landlords.
Bolton-based provider of Commercial EPC ratings Enlighten Enviro is pleased to announce the appointment of Daryl Hosker, who has just won a job as sales and marketing trainee. Daryl was recruited by our sister company Miller Metcalfe, who took him on via the Bolton Lads and Girls Club's Pathways 2 Success scheme, which aims to find work and training for young people. Daryl starts his first full-time job in August.
A leading property expert has suggested that strong Commercial EPC ratings play an important role in attracting prospective buyers or tenants to properties. Malcolm Harrison said that landlords must prioritise EPC assessment in order to make sure that their portfolio remains as appealing as possible to a new, energy-conscious market. Every EPC comes with a list of recommendations that could not only make properties more energy efficient but also save owners hundreds of pounds every year.
